An article titled “The Super Aged Society” by Sachiko Kamiyama, chief analyst at The KAITEKI Institute (TKI), is featured in the March/ April 2014 issue of IEEE Pulse, the magazine of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society. The article discusses the aging society of Japan and long-term healthcare trends, as well as a modeling study of changes in people’s degree of independence with progressing age, which was conducted as a joint study between TKI and Professor Hiroko Akiyama of the Institute of Gerontology, the University of Tokyo.
