Ms. Kaede MAEGAWA of Team KAITEKI competed in the women’s long jump (class: T63) in World Para Athletics Dubai 2019 (Nov. 7-15, 2019.) To represent Japan in Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, one of the conditions to be met was to place 4th or above in this competition. Despite pressure, she broke her best record twice, and successfully won the 4th place with the record of 4m 13cm. As a result, Ms. Maegawa secured a berth to Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games
The KAITEKI Institute, Inc. (TKI) entered the 5-year sponsorship agreement with Ms. Maegawa in April 2016. (The sponsorship agreement news release is here:) Teamed up with Ms. Maegawa, TKI developed the blade for prosthesis. Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation has sold “Griffon Beak,” a home-produced blade, since April 2019. (The “Griffon Beak” news release is here:)
As a member of Team KAITEKI, Ms. Maegawa has been competing under the KAITEKI* concept held by Mitsubishi Chemical Holdings Corporation. TKI will continue to support her and, we aspire to universally contribute to the society through the technology we advanced together with the top-tier para athlete.
